The Shocking Truth About Fort Myers Car Rental Rates
If you think you need to drop a small fortune just to get around during your stay in Southwest Florida, think again. I recently went undercover to investigate the actual cost of a standard Fort Myers car rental, and the results were frankly absurd. While major brands were quoting prices that would make a snowbird blush, one local secret was hiding in plain sight.
I checked rates for a one-week rental during the summer season, checking locations from I-75 to the heart of the Downtown River District. Here is the data I uncovered for a basic economy vehicle:
| Rental Agency | Average Weekly Rate | | :--- | :--- | | Enterprise | $440 | | Hertz | $465 | | Avis | $450 | | Budget | $420 | | Sixt | $490 | | Hooptie Rentals | $200 |
The Math That Big Rental Companies Hope You Never Do
Let’s look at the cold, hard numbers. The big-name agencies currently average $65 per day, which totals $455 per week before taxes and hidden fees. If you choose Hooptie Rentals at our $200/week flat rate, you are putting $255 back into your pocket every single week. That is enough to pay for a private tour of the Edison & Ford Winter Estates and a fancy dinner on McGregor Boulevard.
Why Hooptie is Changing the Game
Forget the credit check headaches. We know that life happens, and you need reliable transportation to get from the airport to Sanibel Island or the Six Mile Cypress Slough Preserve without jumping through hoops. With a $50 deposit and a 2-week minimum, we provide everything from fuel-efficient economy cars to heavy-duty V8 towing vehicles for your local projects.
Can I rent a car with bad credit?
Yes, we skip the credit checks entirely to keep things simple for our neighbors in SW Florida.
Are there hidden fees in the $200 rate?
Absolutely not. The $200/week is a flat rate designed to save you over $255 weekly compared to big-name corporate agencies.
